You are currently at your ideal level of overall health.  You are satisfied with who you are and focused on continuing a plan that fits your goals and your lifestyle.  This includes being consistent with exercise and healthy decisions that allows you to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Improve

Being aware of the need to better yourself in areas of your life.  This includes striving for a goal or goals that impacts one’s confidence, encouraging a positive outlook, and becoming the best version of yourself. This can be attained through exercising, proper nutrition, healthy relationships, as well as other healthy decisions.

Perform

This can be in relation to sports, events, or individual goals.  This can be accomplished through performance training which can include sport specific conditioning, strength endurance, flexibility, stability, and maximal strength.

Tom Stagner

My name is Tom Stagner.  I have a passion for fitness and helping others. 

My goal is to assist others with their health and fitness goals by implementing 3 common FUNCTIONS that I have observed over the years for working out:  Maintain, Improve and Perform.     

Personal Trainer Credentials:

  • Earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation, Sport and Park Administration with a Health and Wellness emphasis from Missouri State University. 

  • Over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness industry as a manager, personal trainer, group exercise instructor and sports conditioning. 

  • Experience managing fitness and wellness programs in the corporate industry, higher education, and nonprofit sector. 

  • NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certified Personal Trainer

  • NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist

  • NASM Youth Exercise Specialist

  • NASM Certified Sports Nutrition Coach

  • Junior High & High School basketball coach

  • CPR/First Aid certified

Program Details

Next Step Strength Training 

Building Stronger Youth Athletes - One Step at a Time 

 

Next Step Strength Training is designed to help young athletes build a strong foundation for long-term athletic success.  This program focuses on safe, age appropriate strength training while improving overall athleticism and confidence. 

Athletes will train once a week on Saturdays, combining: 

  • Strength Training: Proper movement patterns, body control, and progressive resistance to build strength safely 

  • Agility & Athletic Skills:  Speed, coordination, balance, and quickness to support performance in any sport  

  • Nutrition Education:  Basic guidance on fueling growing bodies for training, recovery, and everyday health 

This program emphasizes correct technique, injury prevention, and personal growth in a positive, supportive environment.  Whether athletes are new to training or looking to take the next step in their development, Next Step Strength Training helps them move better, feel stronger, and build confidence.
